Foundation Mission

The Scott Joplin International Ragtime Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation of Joplin's contribution to ragtime music, along with the historic importance connected with Sedalia, Missouri.

The Foundation produces the annual Ragtime Festival, hosts a week-long Artist in Residence Program, and maintains the Ragtime Store. Funding is obtained through donations, ticket sales and merchandise sales. Missouri Arts Council and Sedalia Tourism Commission also provide grants to help cover festival operating costs.

The Sedalia Rag is the Foundation's bi-annual newsletter that keeps ragtime fans updated on festival activities. The newsletters are published in October and March. To change your address or to request a newsletter, click here.

Those contributing $25 or more will be invited to the Donors Only Party (see additional donation level benefits below). The Donor Party time, date and location will be announced at a later date.

Ragtime Angels - any person or business making a donation of $300 or more will be invited to the Ragtime Angels’ Donor Party on Saturday, June 4 at the Hotel Bothwell.  You will receive the previously listed benefits, level appropriate, plus two (2) tickets to the private event.   *$180 per ticket package does not qualify as a charitable contribution **Does not include CDs, Cassettes, sheet music, books, or Chamber items All donations are tax deductible.
