The Scott Joplin Footsteps Tour

This guide is prepared to help you visualize what Sedalia was like in the Ragtime Era.  If you are visiting during the annual Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival, your tour may be accompanied by performers from around the world playing the music Scott Joplin inspired.  
    Joplin created classic ragtime right here in Sedalia and his “Maple Leaf Rag” is what inspired it all. Many of the actual sites associated with that era have been altered or are gone today. Still, just noticing proximities and the structures that remain will give you a sense of what it was like in Sedalia.
