We invite you to tune in Saturday, April 23 at 9PM (eastern) time to view performances by Morten Gunnar Larsen from Oslo, Norway and Bill McNally (Texas) along with SJIRF Artistic Director, Bryan Wright (Pittsburgh, PA) who serves as MC. While the SJIRF has provided each performer with a small stipend for their time and talent, any ‘tips’ you can offer will be greatly appreciated by the artists. Larsen's partnership with Bagneris went on with the performance Jelly Roll!! – The Music and the Man, devoted to Jelly Roll Morton, and initiated at Oslo Jazz festival 1990. It also had eleven months at Off-Broadway (1994–95) and was published as a CD (GHB, 1996). This work granted Larsen the OBIE Award 1995. Larsen studied classical piano. In 1975 he had his premier records, Classic Rags and Stomps, for which he rewarded Spellemannprisen in 1976. He next discovered Ophelia Ragtime Orchestra in 1977 and achieved with improved pianist Eubie Blake, for whom Larsen recorded Memories of Eubie. Larsen worked in New Orleans over longer stretch of time, consequence in a tour and the performance One mo' time. Morten Gunnar Larsen is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer, famous for many stride piano recordings and teamwork’s.
